Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 11, 2026
Your privacy matters. This privacy policy explains how MyBias, developed by Elias Aquino, handles your information.
1. Data Collection and Photos
MyBias works as a personal tool for collecting cards.
- Images and Cards: The images you import and convert into "cards" are processed and stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your photos, we do not view them, and we do not upload them to any external server.
- Local Storage: Your collection database lives exclusively on your device.
2. Permissions
To provide the core functionality of the app, MyBias requires certain permissions:
- Camera: To capture new photos for your cards. Photos are stored locally and never sent to external servers.
- Photo Library: To import existing photos from your gallery into your collection.
- Tracking (ATT): We request permission to track you for advertising purposes via Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. This is optional — the app works fully if you decline.
All permissions are used exclusively for the purposes described above.
3. Analytics and Crash Reporting
To improve the app experience and fix issues, MyBias uses the following third-party services:
- PostHog: Collects anonymous usage analytics (e.g., which features are used most) to help us improve the app. No personal data or card content is shared.
- Sentry: Collects anonymous crash reports and performance data to help us identify and fix bugs. No personal data or card content is included in these reports.
Both services process anonymized, non-personal data only. You can learn more about their privacy practices on their respective websites.
4. Advertising (TikTok SDK)
To measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, MyBias uses the TikTok Business SDK.
- Purpose: The SDK is used solely to measure ad performance and attribute app installs to TikTok advertising campaigns. We do not use it to build user profiles or sell your data.
- Data collected (with your permission): If you grant tracking permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, the SDK may collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), IP address, and basic app interaction events (e.g., app open, purchase) to measure ad conversion.
- Without permission: If you decline the tracking request, no advertising identifier is collected. Only aggregated, non-identifiable data may be used for measurement.
- Data sharing: This data is shared with TikTok (ByteDance Ltd.) solely for advertising measurement purposes. TikTok's privacy policy applies to any data they receive: https://www.tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy.
5. Payments and Subscriptions (RevenueCat)
To manage premium features, we use a secure service called RevenueCat.
RevenueCat processes anonymous identifiers to verify your subscription status. We do not share your personal identity or the content of your cards with RevenueCat. All financial transactions are processed exclusively by Apple through the App Store.
6. Your Choices
You can manage your tracking preferences at any time:
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your iPhone to enable or disable tracking for MyBias.
- You can also reset your advertising identifier in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
